The inspiration for Elaine Diehl's the Astolat Castle was Alfred Tennyson's poetry about the Lady of the Lake. It was built between 1974 and 1987, with the help of artisans from around the world. Astolat Dollhouse Castle is on display at the Tee Ridder division of the Nassau County (Long Island, NY) Museum of Art.
